Mediterranean garden design
Gardens designed to suit your climate, your home, and the way you live outdoors.
I design modern Mediterranean gardens that are elegant and enduring: spaces that invite calm, embrace the light, and thrive effortlessly in their surroundings.
A well-designed garden is more than an outdoor space; it’s a way of living with ease and connecting to the land that sustains us.
Each garden is shaped around native and climate-adapted plants that provide year-round interest, support wildlife, and require low water and minimal maintenance, creating landscapes that feel both beautiful and deeply at home in their environment.
My approach to garden design
What I offer
Complete design for new gardens or spaces that need a full rethink.
I take your garden from blank canvas (or an outdated layout) to a structured, low-maintenance outdoor space designed around climate, structure, and long-term use.
Best for: new builds, major renovations, or full garden redesigns.
Upgrade existing gardens through smarter, climate-appropriate planting.
If the layout works but the planting feels tired or high maintenance, I redesign the planting using resilient, locally adapted plants that create year-round structure and balance.
Best for: improving planting without redesigning the entire garden.
Focused, practical advice to help you understand your garden and plan next steps with confidence.
Ideal if you’ve recently moved or inherited an established garden and want clarity before making changes.
Best for: new homeowners or early-stage planning.
Why I design gardens
I trained as a garden designer in South East London in 2006, focusing mainly on small urban gardens. These spaces needed to be low maintenance but still full of life, with strong structure softened by texture and planting that carried interest through the seasons.
When I moved permanently to Málaga province in 2024, I had to rethink everything I knew about planting. The light, soil, and seasons were completely different, and I began learning what truly thrives here long term, not just what looks good when first planted.
My own garden, at 400 metres elevation, became a place to test ideas in real conditions. Less water, more structure, and carefully chosen plants that belong to this landscape.
Today, I design gardens for international homeowners who want outdoor spaces that feel natural to their location and easy to live with over time.
You will receive practical, experience based advice from real garden projects in Spain on soil, drainage, plant selection, irrigation and seasonal garden decisions to help you create a garden that thrives in Mediterranean conditions.
